I had the good fortune to collaborate with Randy Watts while planning functions held at the French Embassy for two decades. He has an artist's eye that captures the spirit of the décor (including challenging linens with vibrant patterns) in his striking floral arrangements, achieving the perfect focal point for each table and additional arrangements that pull together an entire room. He met with every one of my clients so he could better understand their preferences and their budget. His arrangements are unfailingly elegant and the individual blooms are at peak perfection.
I admire his versatility; he creates arrangements that express his client's taste: modern and dramatic, dainty and charming, and updated classics, like his creations for my own wedding. We entrusted him with all the choices concerning the flowers; the arrangements for the garden, bouquets, tables, mantelpieces, etc. He met with my wife and learned that she loved going to art museums and which flowers she did not like. We saw his arrangements for the first time as he personally set up our venue, as he does for all his clients, and his arrangements surpassed anything we could have imagined. The flowers were inspired by paintings in our National Gallery of Art: Victorian in style for the large outdoor urns and a mix of flowers and grapes in a delicately wrought silver vase lifted right out of a Dutch still-life for the tables in more intimate rooms of an historic home. Mr. Watts does not overlook the importance of what his flowers are placed in and has an array of choices that are unique. He is a good listener with excellent taste and a floral arrangement designed with you in mind will be memorable and beautiful.
